The Town Council represents the four wards of Blackwood North, Blackwood South, Blackwood Central and the Cefn Fforest East Ward.  Council usually meets monthly at 6:30pm, at Blackwood Methodist Church by the old Argos in Town, on the First Monday  of the month.  Members of the public are able to attend council meetings in person or on a remote basis by asking the clerk for a link to Microsoft teams prior to any meeting you will only be an observer unless previously arranged with the Clerk.

 

Blackwood Town Council is an elected tier of local government. Its role is to represent the interests of the community.

Blackwood Town Council supports events in the town, it is directly responsible for the,

Town centre hanging baskets,

Annual carnival,

The Christmas lights switch on,

Blackwood lantern parade.

The Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cenotaph.

Also, we give grants to local organisations who demonstrate benefits for residents of the Town Council Catchment area.
