A temporary drive through testing centre has opened at Penallta House council offices in Ystrad Mynach from today Tuesday 8th  September.

The drive through centre has been opened in response to a raising rate of coronavirus cases in Caerphilly borough, and due to significant demand for tests at the temporary ‘walk up’ testing facility outside Caerphilly Leisure Centre, which will remain open for another week until September 15th. At the drive through centre you can pull up and have a test through your car window. There are strict safety measures in place to protect both staff members and people coming for a test. If you have symptoms of Coronavirus, however mild, please attend for a quick, safe test.
The drive through testing centre will be at Penallta House council offices, Tredomen Business Park, Ystrad Mynach, CF82 7PG. It will be operational from Tuesday 8th  until Tuesday 15th  September. The opening hours will be 09:00- 18:00.
The additional drive through testing centre is being opened to make it as easy as possible for people to have a test if they are showing Coronavirus symptoms, no matter how mild. You must arrive in a car or small van. The test centre is only for residents of Caerphilly County Borough and ID checks are in place.
If you are unsure about the symptoms, please use the NHS Wales online symptom checker, or call 111 for help and advice.
For people who live outside the Caerphilly County Borough area, there are other testing facilities available in Gwent – at Rodney Parade in Newport and Cwm in Blaenau Gwent. You can also have a test posted to your home. Apply online at  or phone 119.
